Reality is governed by patterns and cycles.
Whether it’s on a personal or global level, the habits and routines that guide daily life form systems that control the way we do things physically, mentally and spiritually. These habits depend on environment, skills, attributes, starting point, values, traditions and work ethic among countless other variables.
We can get into patterns of repeating the wrong things, thinking they are good for us. We can get into patterns of avoiding the right things, thinking they are bad for us.
You often see parents expressing their frustrations when they go on warning us about things that we end up doing anyway. They know through experience that certain things can harm us and as we grow up there are times we might rebel and test the waters regardless. Funny enough, we end up realizing that they were mostly right through reflecting on our own trials and errors. Instead of heeding their warning that the stove is hot, we opt to feel the heat and get burned instead.
There are an infinite amount of instances throughout life where we already knew something could be bad but we went ahead with it anyway. Conversely, the same applies for avoiding the good things out of other perceived fears or inaction. Repetition in either direction becomes habit over time and before we know it our current subconscious actions and reactions have been set through years of programming.
It’s important to become aware of how we’ve been programmed on every level. Analyze your thoughts, actions, habits, results and goals. Is what you’re doing daily aligning with where you want to be in the future? Chances are a lot of the habits you’ve picked up over the years and think are “just who you are” can be modified, adjusted and transformed.
You don’t have to be a slave to the programming.
Abandon the old tendencies you developed unconsciously over time.
You don’t have to accept everything you’re told from people at face value. Learn to discern what is right and wrong through trial and error and learning from the mistakes of others.
You don’t have to become morbidly obese, a hard drug addict or homeless to turn the ship around. It all starts with understanding what cycles and patterns you are currently in at this present stage of life. Determine where your time and energy are going. Understand what you can and cannot control. Cut out what’s bringing you down. Add in what can propel you to higher levels.
With the right habits in place, repeating the same motions daily is very beneficial to becoming competent and successful in different areas. The proper systems will help you make progress even on days where you feel off and nothing seems to be working out. If you know what has to be done when, even the toughest battles will be much easier to fight. Put yourself in the right mindset to become great. Gain results by stepping into the arena and getting the right experience that is needed to move forward.
When you know what to plug in where, you will always have a way forward. There’s no time to stagnate and drift away. Always something to be done. An extra effort and the right preparation goes a long way when opportunity presents itself. You are ready for the big game because of those countless hours of work and practice to refine your skills. When you step onto the field, all the fear and worry washes away. You are ready to attack the moment. Any challenges will be dealt with. Now it’s time to win.
Flow with the times.
There are many things in life that we will never be able to grasp physically, mentally or spiritually. Some things just happen and have to be dealt with. Nature has its ways and we are better off analyzing and adjusting to these workings. Trust your instincts and figure out the path that leads you to your dream destination. Have faith that it’ll all work out. Don’t try to fight forces that you don’t understand. You can’t control the world. Embrace what life throws your way. Turn any mistakes into lessons and keep moving forward with your mission.
The unknown is actually a fun part of life if you look at it through the right lens. If everything was cut and dry and you knew exactly how your whole life would play out up until death, it would get boring very quickly. This element that chance plays really enhances the experience of life. It gives many hope for the future, solace from the past and joy in the present.
