I think it’s extremely important nowadays to be hyper aware of where your time and energy are going. There are too many subtle traps out there throwing people off course.
Everywhere you go, someone or something is trying to get a piece of you energetically.
Who you spend time with and what you do on a daily basis will carve out different trajectories for your life. Each day you can piece together new opportunities to open different pathways for yourself moving forward.
A big overarching problem seems to be the “path of least resistance” attitude that clouds most of society today. Everyone is encouraged to not try too hard. Stay in between the lines, your idea is probably taken anyway. Someone else is more qualified. You just don’t have the time, energy or knowledge to get it done.
All these feel good excuses that kill dreams before they even have a chance to leave a person’s mind.
When too many corners are cut the fabric of a society starts to come apart at the seams. If everyone is trying to do the least possible with their time instead of taking advantage of the energy they are given, things can fall apart.
The way to inspire a change in what you see is through your own daily actions. If you don’t start with yourself, don’t be a hypocrite. Yelling at others to do something that you don’t do is not the way to go.
Lead by example, attack what matters and cut out the noise. Figure out what lights a fire inside of you and do whatever you can to make that vision a reality over time. If you are in motion, doing the work daily, your focus becomes much clearer as time goes by.
What you once thought impossible is now a stepping stone to another level.
I made it a priority this year to start turning those long held ideas into something more concrete for myself:
Physically
-Joined a kickboxing gym and getting into the best shape of my life.
-Started eating much smarter.
-More energy and better vibe throughout the day.
Mentally
-Decided to join a few great networks that have guided me tremendously instead of scrolling and daydreaming.
-Got an appointment setting job doing cold calls through one of the networks.
-Built a website and newsletter for my writing and created social media accounts I’ve been posting on.
Spiritually
-Read the bible cover to cover for the first time.
-Laughing at things that used to cause worry and having much more faith.
-Having an actual purpose now instead of just going through the motions and floating around.
I’m at the beginning stages of where I’d like to end up but the difference now is that I’m doing more with the time that’s been given to me and recognizing the right paths to take along the way.
There will definitely be times where you must adapt to life as it is thrown at you. When you have this underlying mission, it becomes much easier to rebound and get back to building.
The thing about life is there will always be new peaks to climb and new levels to reach. How you act and go through your days will determine what things you improve and decline in specifically.
Tailor your life around what you want to accomplish and get rid of the excuses that might cloud your judgement.
It definitely won’t be perfect Day 1 but the continuation and bettering of your skillset on a daily basis will have your progress compounding forward. That “lucky break” will happen much sooner than later.
Keep climbing and review your plans as you get higher up the mountain. Remember what you do it for.
Get started and evolve into the version of yourself that will complete the mission.
Don’t be the person on your death bed wondering what could have been.
One step at a time.
Day by Day.
Get it done.
I was just thinking along these lines. I need to get off social media and delve into my WIP!
