Build momentum through action.
Thinking is great. Our imagination is one of the greatest weapons that we have at our disposal. The only way your thoughts will hinder your progress is when you get stuck in cycles of inaction. It’s important to put knowledge to the test. Any information you come across has to be used or discarded. Avoid filling your mind with clutter. Understand the task at hand. What is your vision? How can you turn it into a reality? The work never really ends. Even if you’re retired with enough money to last you a lifetime, you still have to wake up and go through the motions of daily life. No matter where you may find yourself at this moment and no matter what stage of life you might be in, there will always be more things to do until our time on this earth runs out.
Make note of the things that really drive you in life and take accountability for everything that you do on a daily basis. Every single person on this planet has hopes, dreams and aspirations. If you want yours to start becoming real, you have to move things from your mind to the outside world. Constant forward motion even in the times where you feel lost and confused. Have your blueprint ready to fall back on. Put your time and energy in the right places for your situation. Refine your systems as you go. Take the necessary steps to get to where you want to be physically, mentally and spiritually.
Every day is a new opportunity to improve your skillset. Get in better shape, make more money, build better relationships. There are an infinite amount of places to be and things to do in this world. Each of us with a unique life experience living simultaneously.
Focus on the moment.
It’s very easy to lose focus these days. We are constantly bombarded by outside sources. Told what to do and what to think by others who might not have our best interests at heart. This barrage of information can lead us astray if we let it. We should get in tune with nature and understand how heavily we are being influenced outside of ourselves. Our instincts are heavily suppressed in this modern age and as many will tell you, it’s important to touch grass from time to time. Implement habits that will get you further along your journey instead of spending your “off” time worrying about issues that are way beyond your control.
When you base your life around completing the right things, more wisdom and experience is gained and the challenges start to become exciting. Any worry or fear is completely wiped away. You wake up in a hurry to get to work on your mission. It doesn’t even really feel like work after awhile. Just a bunch of different pieces coming together to create a system that propels you to new heights. Building up different skills and weapons to help you win on the battlefield of life.
Every single moment will grant us choices to make. Some unexpected highs and lows will be dealt over a lifetime. Our reactions to those situations can turn things around for the better or leave us stranded in the gutter. Everything changes and moves forward over time. Zero in on what matters and double down on the levers that are important to your success. Paint the picture of what an ideal life looks like to you and then go out there and make it happen.
Results appear through repetition.
Anybody can get good at almost anything with enough practice and repetition. Sure, there are definitely exceptions. Some people might never be good at a specific subject no matter how hard they try, others might be born with incredible talent and no desire to pursue what they’re naturally good at. For the most part, if you find something that you want to improve in, start with the basics, get the foundations down and then start putting your own spin on things along the way. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel here, especially as a beginner. Carve out some time to practice and get competent enough to start seeing some initial results. This might be some small PRs at the gym, the first few dollars made from a new business venture, better personal and romantic relationships or any other indicator that you’re making the right gains in the right areas.
At first, it may seem like you’re swimming against the current but it’s important to push through any initial learning hurdles in order to determine if you’re on the right track. You can’t become great at something without first starting and getting good at it.
Look at the bigger picture.
Decide where you want to go.
Create and refine your systems over time.
Focus on what matters.
Understand your mission.
Do what needs to be done.
