Pick your poison.
One way or another, everyone’s journey in this world will come to an end. We all die at some point, no matter how we choose to live out our lives. Coming to terms with mortality can drive some into despair and others to new heights. Our outlook can have a great effect on the way we live. Being able to adapt can turn tragedies into triumphs. Understanding that we’re all going to go one day can clarify the vision and enhance gratitude for every experience we’ve been through. All we can do is choose how to live those moments until the time is up.
Everyone has their own hopes and dreams. Some are actively pursuing them while others sit around and wait for something to happen. Different decisions to make at each turn. Constantly writing new chapters in the book of life. The time will pass regardless of what we accomplish. Why not build a life we love living? Take the time to figure out your purpose and walk the path accordingly. Take action. Step into the arena. Gain experience and wisdom. The battle never ends and every single day you choose what you’re fighting for. Maybe you’re way off trajectory for where you’d like to be. If you feel regret starting to set in even if things might be decent and comfortable, flip the switch and embrace the unknown. Go out and seek opportunity whether it’s related to work, business, relationships, training, health or anything else that may be important to you. After awhile any fear and worry evaporates as you are so engulfed in progressing to the next level that you don’t have time to hesitate and feel down. The next target is already in the crosshairs after the last shot has been fired.
Even if you’re still relatively young, you’ve probably felt the sting of regret at least a few times already. A missed opportunity that you ponder and wish had gone different later on. The problem with dwelling on these situations and letting them hold a lot of weight in your mind is that it stalls or prevents further action that can change perceptions for the better. Get to the point where you become so comfortable going after what you want that your drive and vision move past the toughest hurdles. Rejection shouldn’t even matter after getting those initial reps in. Understand the basics and turn on the engine until it stops running for good. No limits to what can be accomplished with the right energy. Do what you can while you can or harp on wasted potential and what could’ve been when it’s too late.
Always give it a try.
It seems to always feel worse not attempting something than it does attempting it and getting immediate feedback. You can leave the situation knowing you did what you could in the moment with what was available and there’s a subconscious respect you gain for your own thoughts and actions. The limits get pushed further and we trust ourselves much more in future situations which in turn makes life flow much smoother on a day to day basis. Much easier to mold reality when you have faith in your own abilities. It’s hard to fake this type of energy without actually going through the motions. Nothing will ever be perfect but we can become great at certain things by continuing this constant process of action and refinement. Gather some information on a topic you’re interested in. Get out there immediately and apply some of the basics in real time. Figure out what worked and what didn’t. Tweak the system and continue moving forward. Repeat the process with each next level and challenge along the way.
Life itself is war. Even if you don’t bother anyone and try to be the nicest person ever, bad things will still happen over the course of a lifetime. It’s much more worthwhile to face things head on and become a force to be reckoned with in whatever subjects you may choose to pursue. Put yourself out there and attack your mission while being prepared to defend yourself from outside forces when they try to bring you down. Don’t go out seeking trouble but don’t back down when it’s at your doorstep. Find balance in the extremes.
We never truly know what we’re good at until we get some traction in a certain area. A few feeble attempts don’t determine much. It’s important to build some competence. The first prospect you call might hang up in your face. The first woman you ask out might say no. The first workout you do might leave you sore and tired. If you stop after that first attempt and build your persona around it you’ll be broke, single and out of shape in no time. Being too rigid is a recipe for disaster. Do those things a few hundred times each and results are guaranteed. Do them a few thousand times each and you’ll start reaching the upper echelons. Talent and luck are important pieces to the puzzle but without volume, drive and the ability to think outside the box, the runway to take off will be non existent. Always look on the bright side and fire more shots no matter where you may find yourself. Something will eventually hit and take you to the next level.
Crosses to carry.
Our paths are all unique. No two people have the same set of experiences over a lifetime. Even identical twins will do different things at different times while having different thoughts and actions moment by moment. Anywhere you look, the world provides a wealth of knowledge about billions of different people, past and present, and how we all live simultaneously. We can learn many great lessons from friends, family, public and historical figures and strangers. Each person or story that comes across our mind leaves an impact in some way. We learn how to survive from our interactions with other people and the world around us. Picking up many different habits and patterns as we move through phases of life and gain more experience. With so much going on at once, we may think ourselves insignificant at times but the reality is that we have our own path to walk and we were all put here for a reason.
Everyone you encounter has their own burdens to bear and cross to carry. We should all feel gratitude in some way for where we are and what we’ve been through. Knowing that we did all we could no matter what comes next.
Leave the rest in God’s hands and appreciate this gift of life at every turn.
