With each passing moment, we are given a set of choices to make.
In today’s day and age, there are an infinite amount of paths we can take. It seems at times that there is too much going on at once. Billions of lives being lived simultaneously, all with their own dreams and aspirations. Very easy to get lost in the noise. Constantly distracted by the flashing lights and new shiny objects.
Most fall into the category of psyching themselves out before ever attempting to get started on the right path.
Unable to see the final horizon from the starting point, they opt to remain seated on the sidelines living vicariously through the actions of others. Substituting purpose and faith for a mundane existence highlighted by hollow relationships and cheap vices.
They never seem to get past a daydream. Chronically plagued by an underlying fear of the unknown. Needing some form of certainty before attempting even the slightest risk.
Over time, this constant suppression of instinct and lack of real purpose begins to wear on these people. This void gets filled with a type of victim mindset that spreads among the population and lowers the overall energy of the landscape.
They know that they could've attempted to change course many times over. They chose to blame external factors instead of trying to level up their lives overall.
It’s much easier to complain and point the finger than it is to take accountability and attempt things that may prove to be very difficult, especially in the beginning.
Without this guiding force, many become lost.
Start by identifying your strengths and weaknesses and creating a blueprint that will help you properly distribute your time and energy. Sure, there will be some days where you are sick or tragedy strikes in some capacity.
This is apart of life. Rest up and react accordingly. Don’t get derailed. Adjust and become resilient. Change and adaption is vital to continued success in the future. Be rigid with your purpose while flowing with the times and overcoming unexpected challenges thrown your way.
Understand that time will always move along regardless of how you feel. Each tick on the clock makes you a second older and brings you a moment closer to death.
Build towards living a life that aligns with your spirit with every passing day given to you.
Do what needs to be done regardless of failure or the fear of failure.
If you want to get in better shape, start by moving around everyday and cleaning up your diet.
Allow yourself to develop the basics in order to get stronger. Do it regardless of feeling. Just show up and get to work. Let the chips fall where they may and adjust as you start gaining more skills.
The same health example can be applied to many areas. Decide on what needs to be done with regards to every skill and habit you want to learn. Map out the right targets to get to the next level and then take it from there.
The important thing is to focus in the right way. Improve physically, mentally and spiritually. Most are too scattered and can’t gain traction with anything.
Focus on hitting these different levers daily. Don’t spread yourself too thin. Attack the right things and build momentum.
There is also the case of the “one trick pony”, so to speak, who might be great at one specific thing and lacking in every other metric. Would argue that this is better than being scattered and having no real direction but by the same token we’re living in a world of increasing change.
It is definitely better to be in good shape, smart, wealthy, adaptable, free with a purpose and great relationships than it is to just have one or none of these things. Strive for competence in the right areas that will help you grow in unison.
Understanding yourself is a key part to this whole picture. There are people that work very hard at things they just generally can’t stand and will never feel a passion for. There are people that never give themselves a chance to discover the things they might actually enjoy working hard at.
Going out and finding where you want to pour your time and energy is half the battle. Work on things that you have a genuine interest in that can propel you forward to new heights. Keep the bigger picture in mind while going through the right motions and refining your strategy as you take action and gain more knowledge.
It’s now more important than ever to live by a code.
Set boundaries on what you will and won’t do and respect them with honor. Have a word and stick to it. Build trust by doing the things that you say you will. Show up to the arena and sharpen your sword each day. You might not always win but your skills will improve exponentially. Every battle fought brings new experiences and insights into the constant war of life.
The momentum built through daily action with the ultimate goal of achieving your mission will bring unexpected wins and unforeseen challenges along the way.
Always react to these scenarios in a proactive matter. Don’t wrest on your laurels for too long. Look at a difficult battle as a way to get better and level up. Never complain or use the situation at hand to victimize yourself and excuse action. There is always something to be done as long as you base your next decisions on your purpose.
Mistakes are inevitable but they should be seen as opportunities to refine our skills. The path becomes much clearer when we pair knowing what to do and what not to do. It becomes easier to escape negative patterns and traps that sideline most. Trial and error helps to solidify the vision as time goes on.
Shortcuts might seem lucrative but you will waste more time and energy trying to avoid the work that must be done. Put in an honest effort and the right wisdom will appear along the way.
Give chance an ability to work it’s magic by showing up and doing the right things. Seek out the right people that can guide you with regards to skills they’ve mastered without idolizing anyone in particular.
Keep applying what you learn daily and refine your systems as you synchronize your skills together to improve overall as a person. Continue to stack competence in the important areas of your life.
Take this time to become clear on what needs to be done.
Hit the right levers daily and weather any storms that may come your way.
Growth is guaranteed when you keep showing up to the arena and delivering to the best of your abilities.
Win, lose or draw, the persistence to keep firing on all cylinders will help you progress towards your ideal version of reality much faster than sitting on the sidelines ever will.
The regret you might face when you truly can’t change things around will sting much worse than any previous thoughts of fear or rejection ever could.
Understand your strengths and weaknesses. Set the initial targets on what needs to be done to get to the next level. Show up and get it done regardless of the outcome.
Take advantage of this gift while you still can.
Make your imagination come to life.
Enjoy the ride.
