Make things happen.
At a certain point, we all have to take accountability for our own lives. It’s easy to blame outside circumstances for miserable conditions but with the right perceptions there’s always a way forward. Obstacles and challenges are there to test our capabilities. Constantly thinking the worst over a long period of time is a recipe for disaster. We can’t mentally block ourselves from taking action and expect everything to just fall into our laps. Opportunities will present themselves but they must be grabbed. It’s important to take that step forward in order to show that your thoughts and actions are in sync with your spirit. We truly never know how being at the right place at the right time or sparking up the right conversation can affect our lives unless we are present in the moment at hand.
We build up personas for ourselves over the years based on what’s happened with previous experiences around different people and places. Many of us have certain ingrained patterns and habits that we see as second nature now. The reality is that many of these traits can be transformed to suit us better if need be. There’s no need to conform to the image you might think others have of you. There’s no need to reinforce bad qualities that are holding you back to remain comfortable. We can legitimately step outside the door one day, head over somewhere and chat with strangers using a completely different name and personality. It might sound crazy but it’s not impossible. What stops us is the perceived consequences of what stepping out of that zone will do. It’s much easier to revert back and find excuses than it is to push boundaries and move the needle.
It’s important to think outside of the box and understand that our attitude towards certain situations can dictate how they will play out in real time. Expecting something to go wrong before the event even takes place is a great way to lose confidence and feel defeated. Start with the basics and give yourself the benefit of the doubt. Stack the right skills and refine systems to reach the next level. We can’t beat the game before we start playing it, even with an incredible strategy. Letting doubt creep in will make it that much harder to get the ball rolling and build momentum. Have faith over fear and make the most of each moment. Get moving in the right direction.
Play the game.
It’s much easier to sit back, watch and critique other people than it is to actually step into the arena. We’re living in a time where it’s encouraged to stagnate and take the path of least resistance. Nobody will really hold it against us. Society at large has disincentivized drive and imagination. In a time where we can check out and quit while still surviving quite easily, why try to do great things? The answer to that question will depend on each person you ask but the reality is that it’s possible to bring that vision to life by taking action and gaining knowledge along the way. Each step brings us a little closer to the bigger picture. Each mission completed brings on another level until our time is up.
A key component is to understand what you’re getting into and why. If you do things to others, good or bad, don’t be surprised if similar things happen to you. If something truly doesn’t resonate with your purpose, drop it and find the right combination that’ll get you where you want to go. There are an unlimited amount of paths out there and we each have our own unique experience of the world. No two lives are identical. Put out authentic energy and do what you can with what you have. Learn the rules of the games you want to play within the ultimate game of life and get good at them. Reality can be molded with the right actions.
Being focused on the mission at hand and living in the moment also makes us immune to most of the noise. It’s hard to care about things outside of our control when we are living in sync with our spirit and getting things done to better our situations and take care of our loved ones. Clarify what matters to you personally and figure out what areas you need to improve in and why. Putting the reps into the right places daily starts to compound after awhile. Not only does each individual skill improve, they also morph together to give a better overall life experience. We’re thrust into the game since birth whether we like it or not. Better to make the most of it and play it well while we still can.
Have faith in the mission.
Putting more time and energy into something and going above and beyond typically leads to breakthroughs. Every moment we are gifted with can be used to increase momentum in some way, shape or form. Choices to make at each turn that dictate future trajectories down the line. Faith is a crucial piece of the puzzle as it enables us to take on risk and have hope for the future even if things might seem bleak where we’re currently at. The right outlook can have us leapfrogging to new levels.
Find opportunity and actively put yourself out there regardless of any rejection or obstacles along the way. Having that belief that it can be done and that things will always work out in the end is crucial. Without enough faith it will be impossible to see things through. There has to be a reason beyond ourselves to push forward when it seems like all is lost. A purpose and a genuine belief in something greater. Without this bigger picture in the back of our minds, it’s quite easy to float around and get thrown off course. Knowing the reason why we do things will help us get by on the days where nothing seems to be going right. Figure out which code you want to live by and get to work on the mission at hand.
The process is ongoing and there will always be another move to make until the very end.
Put time and energy in the right places.
Take care of business.
